Luckily the show was running late #asalways and as soon as I got back I set up for Band Boy and opened the show. After I got the dough, I got a tattoo #friday13th, and got around back to the house a little late. In Rockford we got to the Disastr House early, Joey and Noel filtered veggie oil for the Mercedes, and I walked around ALL of Rockford to get a moneygram from my mom #godbless. We left Chicago for Rockford and Joey dictated instructions/messages for me to send to folks about hustling up some loose ends and contacting people about empty dates. We spent a little time in the park and met this adorable squish face dog that threw up some crazy spit that looked like a marshmallow. Met Sheldon, the parking lot supervisor, and had a great conversation. GOURMET breakfast (salmon, bacon, spinich, cream cheese crepe). We took the singer from Les Beaux to the French bakery that she works at and she LOADED us up with delicious French pastries, maccaroons, baguettes, butter, coffee, all things INCREDIBLE. Afterwards we went out for karaoke and had a blast. Les Beaux crooned and screamed beauty into our ears. It was a pretty low key acoustic show that was very warm and lovely, felt like family. I won a tomato plant from the Radcliff for coming up with a joke to a punchline. It was an intimate show with the cafe filled with friends of the performers, it was nice. Luckily the comedian (Radcliff) showed up late but still introduced me. Another guy told me if he was a politician or mayor or someone important he would ask me to perform somewhere big.

A friendly person asked me if I would perform for a BBQ Benefit show for their group to go on tour at the end of the month, I was sad to tell them I wouldn’t be around. A good handful of people seemed pretty thrilled with happy-go-lucky acoustic Janet. Show started earlier then expected (it started on time with the fabulous Charles Joseph Smith on piano) and we had some time to smash before more people showed up, so I performed an acoustic Janet set. I was not on the bill for this one, but our friend Jail set up the show and asked if I was playing. Current players have included: Adrienne Davies on drums, Lori Goldston on Cello, Karl Blau on bass, Steve Moore on keys, Don McGreevey on bass and Bill Herzog on bass.We embark! To Chicago! Early cafe show Nitecap Coffee Bar in Pilsen. Carlson has remained the core of the band’s line-up throughout its changes. Earth currently features a markedly different sound, slow-paced and lengthy, but now with a drummer and featuring strong elements of country music and jazz.ĭylan Carlson founded the band in 1989 along with Slim Moon and Greg Babior in Olympia, Washington. Earth’s early albums were usually recorded as a duo (Carlson and a bass guitarist), and could be seen as a variation of the experimental doom-influenced metal of The Melvins. Their early work grew out of the Seattle-area grunge scene and is recognized as pioneering the genre of drone doom - an experimental offshoot of doom metal, characterized by droning, minimalist, lengthy, and repetitive structures. Earth’s music is mostly instrumental, and can be divided into two distinct stages. Earth is an American musical group based in Seattle, Washington, formed in 1989 and led by guitarist Dylan Carlson.
